Visa for Ghana

German citizens need a visa to enter Ghana, which must be obtained from the Ghanaian embassy before your trip. Allow enough time for processing. Typically, you’ll need a valid passport, a passport photo, the completed visa application, a personal invitation or hotel booking, and proof of yellow fever vaccination. Flights to Ghana

Kotoka International Airport (ACC) in Accra is the main hub. From Germany, there are numerous flights, often with a transfer at another international airport, e.g., Rome. We recommend comparing prices early, e.g., via Google Flights. Direct flights take approximately 6–7 hours.

Best Time to Visit & Climate

Ghana offers ideal vacation conditions year-round. Enjoy tropical sun, sea, and sand anytime. The dry season from November to March is perfect for beach activities. Even outside these months, the weather is pleasant. The sea stays comfortably warm all year. Sun, sea, and cultural highlights – Ghana is a destination worth visiting anytime.

Health & Safety

Ghana is considered one of the safest countries in Africa and provides good medical care, especially around Accra, with numerous private hospitals. Yellow fever vaccination is mandatory. We recommend consulting a travel doctor regarding malaria prophylaxis and other vaccinations. Travel health insurance is essential.
